Custom Storage Rooms in Utah — Turn Dead Space Into Organized Space.

Basement rooms, under-stair cavities, utility closets — built to hold what your house collects.

Every home has wasted space. We build it into something useful.

Every Utah home has at least one room that becomes the dumping ground — the basement storage room with plastic bins stacked to the ceiling, the utility closet where holiday decorations live year-round, the under-stair cavity stuffed with whatever doesn't fit anywhere else. You know the room. You avoid opening the door.

A Cutting Edge storage room turns that space into a system. Floor-to-ceiling shelving rated for real weight — not the wire racks that bow under a box of books. Deep drawers for items you access regularly. Closed cabinets for things you want hidden. Labeled zones so the holiday bins, camping gear, tool overflow, and seasonal clothes each have a permanent address.

We design storage rooms for the spaces other companies ignore. Basement rooms with low ceilings and mechanical obstructions. Under-stair cavities where every shelf has a different depth. Utility closets where the water heater, furnace, and storage need to coexist. These are the projects where custom matters most — stock shelving units don't fit, and improvised solutions always look improvised.

Every storage room project starts with a designer visit. We measure the space, note any obstructions (pipes, ductwork, electrical panels, water heaters), and talk through what you need to store. You get a 3D rendering and a written quote within a few days. Same Orem-built quality, same lifetime warranty.

How it works

  1. We visit and measure

A designer measures the space — including ceiling height, obstructions, doorway clearance, and floor slope — and walks through what you need to store and how often you access it.

  2. We design and quote

Within a few days you get a 3D rendering and an itemized quote showing shelving, cabinets, drawers, and any custom configurations for odd dimensions.

  3. We build it in our Orem shop

Shelving, cabinets, and frames are CNC-cut and edge-banded. Shelf supports are rated for the weight you'll actually put on them.

  4. We install it ourselves

Most storage room installs are completed in a single day. Lifetime warranty on the install.

Common questions

How much does a custom storage room cost in Utah?

Every storage room is different, so we quote each one individually. A basic shelving system in a small closet is the most affordable project. Full basement buildouts with cabinets, deep shelving, and drawers cost more. The price depends on room size, shelf count, weight rating, and how many obstructions we're designing around. Every quote is itemized so you can compare.

Can you work around basement mechanical systems?

Yes — it's one of the most common challenges in storage room design. We design around furnaces, water heaters, electrical panels, sump pumps, and ductwork. Shelving and cabinets are configured to maintain code-required clearances while maximizing usable storage.

Is your shelving strong enough for heavy items?

Yes. We specify shelf thickness and support spacing based on what you'll store. Shelves holding books, tools, or canned goods are reinforced differently than shelves holding holiday decorations. We design for the actual load, not a generic weight rating.

Can you build storage under stairs?

Yes. Under-stair storage is one of our specialties. Each shelf is a different depth (following the stair slope), so stock solutions never fit. We build pull-out drawers, hinged-door cabinets, and custom shelving that use every usable inch of the cavity.

What about humidity in basements?

Utah basements are generally dry, but we use moisture-resistant edge banding and commercial-grade melamine that handles typical basement humidity. For spaces with known moisture issues, we recommend a dehumidifier and can design shelving to keep stored items off the floor.

Do you do utility closets — small ones?

Yes. Even a 3×4-foot utility closet benefits from properly-spaced shelving and a layout designed for what you actually store there. Small spaces are where custom matters most — stock shelves don't fit, and every inch of depth and height counts.

How long does a storage room install take?

Most storage room installs are completed in a single day. Larger basement rooms with extensive cabinetry may take two days. From design consultation to finished install, plan on 3–5 weeks.
