Garage Storage in Utah — Every Tool, Every Toy, Off the Floor.

Custom cabinets, slatwall, overhead racks, and workbenches — built in our Orem shop.

Your garage should work as hard as you do.

Most Utah garages start out as two-car spaces and end up as half-car spaces. Camping gear migrates from the basement. The ski rack overflows. Power tools pile on the workbench. Holiday storage lines the walls. By the time the kids' bikes show up, you're parking in the driveway.

A Cutting Edge garage system takes that space back — all of it. We design and build full cabinetry systems, slatwall panels, overhead ceiling racks, and workbenches, all custom-fitted to your garage's exact dimensions. Floor-to-ceiling cabinets with doors that lock. Slatwall zones for bikes, garden tools, ski gear, and sports equipment — everything hanging where you can see it and grab it. Overhead racks for seasonal storage that stays out of the way until December or July. And workbenches built to the height and depth you actually need, not a stock size that almost fits.

Everything is built in our Orem shop on the same CNC-precision equipment we use for closets. Same commercial-grade melamine. Same soft-close hardware. Same lifetime warranty on the install. The difference is that garage systems take more abuse — so we reinforce shelves for weight, spec moisture-resistant materials where it matters, and design around the realities of a space that gets hot in summer and cold in winter.

Whether you need one wall of cabinets or a full four-wall transformation with overhead racks and an integrated workstation, a Cutting Edge designer comes to your garage, measures, and puts together a plan. You get a 3D rendering and a written, itemized quote within a few days. No franchise markup, no catalog limitations — just custom cabinetry built for your garage.

How it works

  1. We come to your garage

A designer measures the space, photographs it, and talks through what you need to store — cars, tools, sports gear, seasonal items, workshop space. We figure out what goes where.

  2. We design and quote

Within a few days you get a 3D rendering showing cabinets, slatwall zones, overhead racks, and workbench placement — plus a written, itemized quote.

  3. We build it in our Orem shop

Cabinets, shelves, doors, and workbench components are CNC-cut, edge-banded, and checked before they leave the shop.

  4. We install it ourselves

No subcontractors. Most single-wall garage systems install in one day; full four-wall transformations typically take two days. Lifetime warranty on the install.

Common questions

How much does garage storage cost in Utah?

Every garage is different, so we quote each project individually based on how many walls you're building out, what storage features you need, and the finish level you want. A single-wall cabinet-and-slatwall system is the most affordable starting point. Mid-range projects typically cover two or three walls with cabinets, overhead ceiling racks, and a workbench. Full four-wall transformations with integrated workstations and premium finishes are at the top of the range. Every quote is itemized line-by-line so you can see exactly what you're paying for and compare against any other estimate.

How long does a garage storage install take?

Most single-wall systems install in one day. Full-garage transformations — three or four walls of cabinets, overhead racks, slatwall, and a workbench — typically take two days. From your design consultation to final install, plan on 3–5 weeks.

Can you install overhead ceiling racks?

Yes. We install overhead ceiling-mounted racks rated for heavy seasonal storage — holiday bins, camping gear, luggage. Rack size and weight capacity are specced to your ceiling height and joist spacing. Most garages can support 4×8-foot racks; we'll confirm what your ceiling can handle during the design visit.

Do garage cabinets hold up in Utah heat and cold?

Utah garages swing from below freezing in January to 100°+ in July. We spec commercial-grade melamine and moisture-resistant edge banding that handles those swings. We've been building garage systems along the Wasatch Front since 2009 — the materials hold up.

What's slatwall, and is it worth it?

Slatwall is a paneling system with horizontal slots that accept hooks, baskets, shelves, and brackets. It turns any flat wall into adjustable, reconfigurable storage — bikes hang from one hook, ski gear from another, garden tools from a third. It's one of the highest-value additions to a garage because you can rearrange it anytime without drilling new holes.

Can you work around an existing epoxy floor or EV charger?

Yes. We design around existing garage features — EV chargers, air compressor lines, utility panels, water heaters, and epoxy or polyaspartic floors. Cabinets are shimmed and leveled to the existing floor surface; we don't require a perfectly flat slab.

Do you build custom workbenches?

Yes. Workbenches are built to your preferred height and depth, with options for integrated power outlets, task lighting, pegboard backsplashes, and drawer storage underneath. If you need a serious shop bench, we build it the same way we build cabinetry — CNC-precise, edge-banded, lifetime warranty.

Are you a franchise?

No. Cutting Edge is independent and has been since 2009. That means every garage system is designed for your specific space — not pulled from a limited catalog. It also means our pricing is transparent and not marked up to cover franchise fees.
