Closet & Storage Accessories — The Details That Make Custom Worth It.

Jewelry inserts, valet rods, pull-out hampers, shoe fences, and more — sourced from professional-grade hardware suppliers.

The small things that turn good storage into great storage.

A custom closet or pantry is only as useful as its details. The right accessories turn a well-built cabinet into a system that actually matches how you live — jewelry trays that keep earrings visible instead of tangled in a drawer, a valet rod that pulls out for tomorrow's outfit, a hamper that slides on soft-close rails instead of sitting on the floor, shoe fences that keep pairs visible and accessible instead of piled in a heap.

Cutting Edge sources accessories from the brands that professional closet designers trust — premium hardware lines designed specifically for custom cabinetry, not the plastic bins you find at a home store. Metal construction, precise tolerances, and finishes that match the rest of your system.

Here's what's available as part of any Cutting Edge custom project: jewelry and small-items hardware (velvet-lined inserts, belt racks, tie racks, valet rods); hanging and clothing systems (pull-down rods for high-reach hanging, hanging rods with cups, pant racks); storage and organization (lazy Susans for deep corners, pull-out baskets, hooks, shoe fences); hampers and utility (tilt-out and pull-out hampers, pull-out and pull-down mechanisms); wall and ceiling systems (slatwall panels and attachments for garages and utility spaces, heavy-duty ceiling racks); and security (stealth locks for drawers and cabinets with valuables).

Accessories are selected during the design phase and integrated into your system — they're built into the cabinetry, not added after the fact. Your designer will walk through what's available for your specific project and recommend what fits your routine.

How it works

  1. We discuss your routine

During the design consultation for any custom project, your designer asks about daily habits — how you get dressed, where things pile up, what you wish you had. Accessories are recommended based on real use, not upselling.

  2. We spec the right hardware

Your designer selects from our supplier catalog and specs each accessory into the 3D rendering so you can see exactly where it goes.

  3. We build it in

Accessories are integrated during manufacturing — jewelry inserts are sized to the drawer, hamper slides are mounted to the cabinet frame, pull-down rods are anchored to the shelf above. Nothing is an afterthought.

  4. We install and adjust

During installation, we test every pull-out, slide, and mechanism. If a valet rod needs repositioning or a hamper slide needs adjustment, it happens on install day.

Common questions

Can I add accessories to an existing Cutting Edge closet?

Yes — if we built the original system, we can retrofit accessories into it. Drawer dimensions are on file, so we can spec inserts that fit precisely. Contact us for a retrofit quote.

Where do you source your accessories?

From professional-grade hardware lines designed specifically for custom cabinetry — the same suppliers professional closet designers across the country use. Not the consumer-retail hardware you'd find at a home store. Selected for durability, precise tolerances, and finishes that integrate with the rest of your system.

What's a pull-down closet rod?

A pull-down rod is mounted at the top of a tall closet section and pulls down to eye level so you can reach hanging clothes stored above normal reach height. It's especially useful in closets with high ceilings — it effectively doubles your hanging space without a step stool.

Do I need a jewelry insert, or can I just use a regular drawer?

You can use a regular drawer, but a velvet-lined jewelry insert keeps items visible, separated, and untangled. We offer flat inserts (best for earrings, rings, and watches) and box-style inserts (better for bracelets and necklaces) in both melamine and dovetail construction.

What are shoe fences?

Shoe fences are angled rails that mount on a shelf or shelf edge to keep shoes in place — each pair sits on a slight tilt so you can see both shoes at a glance. We carry shoe fences in multiple styles to fit different shoe sizes and shelf configurations. They're one of the most popular accessories for walk-in closets.

Can I get a stealth lock on a drawer?

Yes. Stealth locks are concealed locking mechanisms — no visible keyhole — that secure a drawer or cabinet containing jewelry, documents, firearms, or other valuables. The lock is operated by a hidden key or magnetic release.

Do accessories come with the same lifetime warranty?

The installation is covered under our lifetime warranty. Accessory hardware (slides, hinges, mechanisms) carries the manufacturer's warranty — typically 5–10 years depending on the brand and product. If an accessory mechanism fails under normal use, we'll work with you on replacement.
